How do I get the strong propane smell out of a used propane tank? (It's open already)?

Mercaptin is very potent and very persistant. You'll never get the smell out of there completely. I ume we aren't talking about a 20lb grill tank or something. If it is...just buy a brand new one that has never had propane in it.
