Where should I place the potty?

My son is almost 15 months old. I'm planning to potty train him before the end of January. I waited longer because a relative ped and there was tension in the family (othervise I would have potty trained him weeks ago). It's not too late, right? I bought a new beautiful potty (he picked it) and we are going to buy boy's pants. Where is more appropriate to place the potty? In the corridor, in the living room or in the bathrom?
