How does Physics apply to Astronomy?

I know that physics is important if one wants to go into astronomy. Though I'm feeling a little slow at this hour of the night. What do astronomers use physics for? Just for predicting the path of asteroids, how collisions will affect celestial bodies? What aspects of astronomy require knowledge of physics?
