What are some Earth Day activities for middle schoolers?

I am leading a presentation on the environment for seventh- and eighth-graders, and I am in need of a hands-on, low-budget activity that they can do to reinforce what they're learning about conservation. I want an activity that will take about thirty minutes, that will be easy but not too childish, and that will require little purchased materials. Any suggestions?
