Why is it either Evolution or Creationism?

It is not necessary that we have to choose either theory as the sole governing force. You can say that all of creation is like a watch which God set at the beginning of time and everything has just followed like clockwork. I'm not saying this idea is satisfying to either side of the debate, or that I personally believe in either theory, but it's a possibility.
