How did people react to scarlet fever?????!!!!?

I had scarlet fever when I was 5 years old. I was taken to the hospital and put in a room all by myself. I don't remember being sick. I could have no visitors. I stayed in the hospital for 2 weeks and then I went home. I think the reason that I was put in the hospital was that my Mother was pregnant.. She had the baby and everything was alright. This was over 70 years ago.
